HAIR BOTOX

Hair Botox is a deep-conditioning/smoothing salon treatment. Despite the name, it does not contain Botox injections. It usually coats the hair with conditioning ingredients such as keratin-like proteins, amino acids, oils, and vitamins.

Benefits

  • ✨ Makes hair smoother and softer
  • Reduces frizz and puffiness
  • Improves shine and manageability
  • Can make dry or damaged-looking hair feel healthier
  • Helps reduce the appearance of split ends
  • Makes combing and styling easier
  • Usually gives a temporary smoothing effect, often lasting around 2–4 months depending on the product and hair care

Possible side effects

  • Scalp irritation, itching, or redness if you're sensitive to an ingredient
  • Hair can become dry or brittle if the treatment is too strong or repeated too frequently
  • Some formulations may contain or release formaldehyde/formaldehyde-releasing chemicals, especially when heat is used; these can irritate the eyes, skin, throat, or breathing passages.
  • Occasionally, hair may become flat or lose natural volume
  • Results vary depending on your hair type and the exact product used.

Before getting it

Ask the salon which exact product they use and its ingredient list. A patch test can be useful if you have sensitive skin. Avoid applying it to an irritated or damaged scalp.

If you tell me your hair type (curly/straight, dry/oily, coloured or chemically treated), I can tell you whether Hair Botox is likely to suit your hair and how it compares with keratin treatment.
