Dental Care:

Pleasant breath, clean teeth and healthy gums, all together contribute to a beautiful sparkling, white smile. Mouth is one of the most important gateways of the human body. Hence, good care is a must.

Dantadhavan, brushing the teeth, is of prime importance for taking proper care of the teeth. In the morning, cough is usually found accumulated in the regions of the chest, throat, mouth, nose and head.  To reduce the accumulated cough at these places one should use a tooth powder made from herbs having-bitter, pungent and astringent properties.

Though the method used traditionally consisting of broken twigs of some medicinal trees lime neem or khadir with splayed ends are not in use these days, one can understand the beneficial principles behind the same and used even a tooth brush with herbal tooth powder. Massaging the tooth powder on the gums helps not only to clean the teeth but also to remove the accumulated cough, thus giving a refreshing experience. Instead of getting carried away by the glamour of toothpaste advertisements, the daily use of a pure Ayurvedic tooth powder will enable one to attain proper healthy teeth and get rid of complaints like bad breath, stickiness in the mouth, bleeding gums, tooth caries etc.

Traditionally, tongue cleaners made from a thin, smooth and flexible foil of gold, silver or copper or thin bark were used. Gurgling with oil or decoction of herbs can use Sumukh oil or decoction of Triphala for this purpose and practice this daily or 2-3 times a week.
