Detox with Broccoli

You've treated your body like a haven whilst you have been detoxing and there is no reason to stop now. Before you start your detox, have a couple of meat free days and try and stick to fresh salads, fruit and raw veggies.
When it comes to finding the best body detox, it can be a difficult process as there are just so many different programs and systems out there that it can become difficult to see the wood for the trees.

Things like Spinach, broccoli and potatoes are great for detoxing and will give you plenty of energy as well as strengthening your body's own detox engine. Spinach and Broccoli are also very good natural colon cleansers too.

Broccoli Sprouts: these are very high in antioxidants; they help to stimulate the detoxification enzymes inside the digestive tract. Broccoli sprouts activate the body´s own defense system naturally. Broccoli sprouts are also good for cancer prevention. Broccoli is one of the most powerful natural cancer-fighting super foods available. Broccoli contains a cancer fighting substance called sulforaphane, this substance is especially concentrated in the sprouts.

Consuming this powerful natural detoxifying food helps to prevent stomach cancer naturally. It is easy to grow broccoli sprouts in your own home, all you need to do is to look for the seeds at health food markets and you need to soak the seeds for a few days keeping them hydrated and rinsing them once a day. You can add the sprouts to many dishes like salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes.

This member of the crucifer family is touted as being among the healthiest foods to consume by many nutritionists. When crucifers are digested it releases a nutrient that is known to possess properties that help detoxify the “bad” estrogens that accumulate in the body. “Too much of the so-called bad estrogens and not enough of the good ones could lead to some major health issues, including weight gain, PMS and possibly cancer,” says Paulson. So, eat your broccoli -- at least one cup per day!

Try a simple stir fry with sesame seeds.
